Clackmannanshire and Stirling Advocacy
Introduction
Independent advocacy aims to help people by supporting them to express their own needs and make their own informed decisions. Independent advocates support people to gain access to information and explore and understand their options. They speak on behalf of people who are unable to speak for themselves, or choose not to do so. They safeguard people who are vulnerable or discriminated against or whom services find difficult to support.
Last year, we consulted with people with lived and living experience, their carers and families, practitioners, and the public to learn about everyone’s needs and priorities. The resulting publication, Independent Advocacy Strategic Commissioning Plan 2024-2027, was published in October 2024 as part of the Integration Joint Board papers. These can be found here IJB-Meeting-Wednesday-2-October-2024.pdf
We now want the feedback of those with lived and living experience and their carers and families on how we can action these priorities.
